What to Expect

The first thing Brotherhood Mutual will need to know is what kind of claim you are reporting: property, liability, commercial auto, worker’s compensation, foreign missions and travel.

Next, they will collect some basic contact information, like your name and your role within the ministry. They will need to know the date the loss occurred, where it occurred, and a brief description of what happened. That is all it takes to get the claims process rolling.

Reporting Your Claim

When you need to file a claim, Brotherhood Mutual can accept your information in one of the following ways:

File your claim online (only certain claim types); you will need to log into your online account. If you do not have one, you will need to register/sign-up.

Call Brotherhood Mutual’s emergency claims line (800-333-3371) or after-hours emergency pager (800-933-1849).

After You Submit Your Claim

Brotherhood Mutual will assign your claim to an adjuster who will follow up to answer questions and collect any additional information needed (generally within one business day). Your adjuster can provide information about deductibles, what your policy covers, and how to handle repairs, so have your questions ready.

To Report a Claim by Telephone

Church Mutual welcomes initial reports of claims by telephone and many of their customers prefer this method. It is fast and allows for immediate human interaction. Church Mutual claims representatives are available to assist you with any type of claim during regular business hours and through their answering service at any time for emergencies. When you call to report a claim, a Church Mutual claims representative will ask questions similar to those that are found on the claims forms.

To report a claim or to check the status of a claim by phone call Church Mutual at: (800) 554-2642, then select Option “2” when prompted.

Non-emergency claims may be reported to Church Mutual during regular business hours, which are 7:00 am – 5:45pm Central Time Zone, Monday – Friday.

Emergency claims may be reported to Church Mutual at any time. Church Mutual claim staff remain on-call, round-the-clock and may be reached through our emergency answering service.

Before you call Church Mutual, it is helpful if you have your account and policy numbers, a description of the claim or accident, phone numbers where you may be reached, and any other facts regarding the claim that may help Church Mutual claims representative process your claim promptly.

A Church Mutual claims representative may process your claim directly with you, or they may assign a Church Mutual adjuster in your area to assist in handling your claim. The Church Mutual adjuster reports to the claims representative, who will oversee the claims process for you. So, either way, you will receive prompt, fair and courteous treatment from Church Mutual. If you have questions during the settlement process, you may call Church Mutual at (800) 554-2642 (then press Option “2” when prompted).

To Report a Claim by Fax

Claims reporting forms are included with every Church Mutual policy. You can fax these forms (or forms you have downloaded from the Church Mutual website), to Church Mutual’s Claims Department at (715) 539-4651.

To Report a Claim Using Email

You can use email to notify Church Mutual of a claim and to correspond during the settlement process. Initial email claims reports should be sent to claims@churchmutual.com. Upon receipt, Church Mutual will direct your email to the appropriate Church Mutual claims representative.

If you notify Church Mutual via email, please provide a description of the damage or injury, including how and when it occurred. For injuries, provide name, address and phone number of the injured person(s). Please also provide your name, policy and account numbers and the name and address of the Named Insured on your policy. So that Church Mutual can respond to you in a timely fashion, include your phone number and the best time to reach you. A Church Mutual claims representative will follow up with you by telephone or email.
